Events and Activities
The three parishes of Mitton, Hurst Green and Ribchester enjoyed our first social event at the end of January with an Epiphany dinner at the New Drop Inn. Over 100 people enjoyed a wonderful meal, great company and entertainment provided by a magician and local singer, Hannah Spurgeon.
Events and special services are published in the weekly church notice sheets and in our regular communications. See the Parish News section for the latest news.
Details of up-coming events are publicised on the left hand margin of this page - just click on the link to find out more........
Most of our regular events are shared with our sister church St John's at Hurst Green, and include:
- 3 in 1 coffee stop – held from 2 till 4pm on the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month at St John’s Old School Hall, which is situated behind St John’s Church in Hurst Green
- Bible Pop-up sessions – held about once a fortnight. For more details contact Ann Dearden .
We also have a Mother’s Union group who meet monthly. More information is available on the Mothers' Union page on this website.
Twice a year, on the Spring Bank Holiday Monday and the August Bank Holiday Monday we hold “Stalls on the Green” by Great Mitton Hall. This is a fund raising event for the Church with stalls selling cakes, preserves, plants and bric a brac. You can find us from 10am on the Green, or in the Church if the weather is unseasonably wet!
Every Christmas – usually the Wednesday evening before
Christmas – we hold a Carol Service where we are accompanied by the Slaidburn
We aim to organise other fund raising and social events during the year such as coffee mornings, concerts, quiz nights. Details of these are promoted in the church and local press and publicised on this website.
